Creating a Private POT is very easy. Two options:

  • Create POT: in main menu or in My profile page (displaying the POTs)
  • Clone POT: in POT menu

Customization (optional)

Add a brand or other signage to your POT. Size is 320x60 pixels (aspect ratio 16:3).


Title (required)

It’s one of the most relevant texts you are going to write. Be concise, go straight to the point. Next steps will give you even more space for text. Maximum 60 characters (including spaces).

Description (optional)

Use it as a subtitle or a short description of the content. You can use up to 80 characters (including spaces).

 

Intro / Invitation (optional)

Another text box to describe your content. You can use up to 205 characters (including spaces).

Tags (at least one Tag is mandatory)

Tags help internal and external search engines to find your content. Private POTs are not trackable by search engines but it could be useful to add the Tags because you may decide to turn the POT into Public. 

Multiple Tags must be separated by comma. Possibly add a Tag for the category (music, history, nature, sport, technology, news, literature, art....).

 

Public – Private 

Select Private. It is available only if you subscribed to a Plan.

Shared – Personal 

Shared option is not available for Private POTs. The Private POT cannot receive inputs from other users.

 

Accept Comments 

The Private POT cannot receive Comments.

 


Cover picture (optional but recommended!)

Make your POT more attractive and let the picture represent the content (aspect ratio is 4:3).

 

 

Click Continue to move on.


The CARd will be displayed. Now you can create the Fields you need to organize your content.

You can name up to 8 Fields. Only named Fields will be used and shown on all the CARds of this POT.


An example: if your POT is about the history of a sports cars brand, we may suggest to use the following Fields: Year - Model - Version - Designer. Content will be added and categorized by year of production and model, version, designer...

We remind you that PicOnTrain will not automatically sort the content according to your Fields. It's all in your hands and you will be able to change the position of the CARds along the sequence if needed.

Save to confirm the Fields. The POT is displayed.

Check all the data you input. If you notice any mistake you can click on Edit in the POT menu. Edit the POT and save.

Now you're ready to upload content.
Open the POT. You will find the first empty CARd ready to receive your content. Open it and Edit.

 




 

Clone POT


This is a easy and quick alternative if you want to create a new POT.

If browsing PicOnTrain you see a very interesting POT that could fit your requirements you can Clone it.

Click on Clone POT in the POT menu.

You will create an empty POT including the same Fields of the cloned one. It will also maintain the same title. Now you are ready to make it Private, edit it as you like and upload content. Change the name of the Fields if you need to.

To make things even easier and inspire you, we have created the POT Templates STATION.
Here we collect Templates that we consider interesting for you. Templates are empty POTs which Fields are already set and that might be perfect for your content.
Visit the STATION (or search "template") and if you find the right one, clone it!

 


You can always turn a Private POT into Public.


You may also  want to use the Private option to create undisclosed content to be published only when it is finalized.
